Perry County commissioner quits in plea deal on assault charge

A Perry County commissioner was sentenced yesterday to 10 days in jail for assaulting a county employee and has resigned. Commissioner Lonnie Wood pleaded no contest in Perry County Court to misdemeanor charges of assault and unlawful restraint. Wood restrained, kissed and groped a county employee against her wishes on Oct. 19, 2010, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said in a news release ...
